The EU took a big hit- Italy goes rogue

This may be considered worse than the Brexit for the EU.

Next up, national elections in France and Germany.

Matteo Renzi's time as Italy's prime minister appeared to be over Sunday as exit polls indicated voters had overwhelmingly rejected constitutional reform proposals on which he had staked his future.

The reformist premier had vowed to quit if he lost the vote on proposals to streamline parliament and the first exit polls indicated he had been left with little other option.

Polls for national broadcaster Rai and the La7 television channel both called the vote decisively for the No camp. Their surveys put the winning margin at an average of 56.7 percent to 43.3.

Almost 70 percent of the electorate turned out to vote, first reports from polling stations indicated, underlining the stakes after Renzi's resignation pledge turned the vote into a de facto referendum on his leadership and record.

The projected result was in line with what opinion polls had been indicating up until November 18, after which the media were banned from publishing survey results.

The worm is turning and I believe Merkel and her garbage scared the rest of the EU. They saw the destruction of her policies. I hope the german people use their heads

It seems as if they will. The people are furious over the migrant issue. Even with the press trying to cover it up, it gets out on social media.

I think we are seeing the beginnings of what could be a world revolution. We need to be careful! Perhaps we can even flip China!

I see some armed revolt coming of this but I really believe the people will rise... and put down.

The east is already focused on nationalism and has not been caught up in the globalist movement. That includes Russia and China.

Anti-immigrant, anti-euro populists gain ground in Italy as prime minister resigns

Update to the election and results.

It may not end up as impactful as Brexit. We will have to see.

Italy plunged into political uncertainty Monday after the decisive defeat of Renzi’s signature constitutional revision plan, which was meant to strengthen his hand and defuse the establishment-bashing movement. The rejection by voters had the opposite outcome.

Now, anti-immigrant, anti-euro populists on the left and right who have steadily built power as an alternative to Italy’s old-guard political leadership are seeking to transform their success into a chance at their nation’s highest office. The eclectic Five Star movement is polling at 30 percent, neck and neck with Renzi’s center-left Democratic Party.

“A lesson for everyone: You can’t always lie to the people without suffering the consequences,” said Beppe Grillo, the caustic comedian who founded the Five Star movement.

Brit, France, now Italy. If the germans have enough brains to dump the worst one of them all. It will be a clean sweep

The right lost the elections in Austria. I don't remember the exact vote, but they did get beat.

It seems as though the Italians want to have control over their economic conditions and not hand those decisions over to other nations. Imagine that?
